Body as a Witness 2025

Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, Amman
The performance treats the body as an instrument of record: a site that registers, accumulates, and carries what passes through it. Rather than narrating experience, it maps the body’s spatial relationships, how it measures space, shapes itself around what it holds, how the act of witnessing moves from private to shared. Meaning accumulates through sustained attention rather than event.
Developed during the Mycelium Residency with Remal Lab as part of the Idea Festival, Body as a Witness is a collaborative live performance presented at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts in Amman. The work brings together movement by Baluchi, lighting and visual design by Rayane, and an original sound composition by Amro. Three practices in dialogue, none subordinate to the others.
Residency organized by Studio 8 in collaboration with Interference & Danseurs Citoyens Sud, hosted by MMAG.
