Ziyarat Qabul: A Pilgrimage to Balochistan 2024
Lecture performance
Goethe-Institut, Cairo

Developed during a one-month residency in Cairo as part of the Un|controlled Gestures Program – 3rd Edition, an initiative by the Goethe-Institut in collaboration with HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Ziyarat Qabul approaches Balochistan as a site of pilgrimage. Not in a conventionally religious sense, but as a deliberate, searching journey toward a place weighted with personal, ancestral, and political significance.

The lecture-performance format allows research and lived experience to sit alongside each other without being forced into resolution, moving between documentation, testimony, and embodied presence. The work is part of a longer inquiry into what it means to make a return, and what that act demands of the person making it.
